Hello Ladies,
We will not be practicing the following 2 Saturdays: April 16th and 23rd, due to Spring Break Vacation. Continue checking the website for any updates about tournaments. Your respective coaches will also be emailing you information during the next few days in regards to the tournaments
We will return to Brandeis for practice on April 30th. Enjoy your vacation!!!
03/20/11:
Hello Ladies,
We will be leaving this Saturday to Baltimore from 9th Ave. between 41st and 42st @ 6 AM sharp. If there are any parents that are able to drive please contact either coach Omar or coach Felix ASAP.
The address to the school is the following:
Western High School, 4600 Falls RD Baltimore, MD 21209
The gym entrance is on the back side of the school near the fields. The gym door reads Eva Scott Gym over the door.

Hello Ladies,
A reminder that we will not be meeting for the next two Saturdays (02/19/11 and 02/26/11) for practice due to holidays. Continue to check the website for any updates.
Also, coaches will be sending out emails in regards to the tournaments taking place during these weeks. If you have any questions check the Contact Us tab to email any of your coaches.

Hey Ladies,
We will be practicing this Saturday at Brandeis HS as usual. Please come ready to work hard.
For the 16s Tournament this weekend we will be meeting at 34th Street and Lexington Ave at 6:15 AM and LEAVING at 6:30 AM. The tournament will be held at Center Moriches HS. We play the first game at 9 am so it is important to be on time. Please inform us if any of your parents can assist with transportation.

Happy New Years Ladies!!!
The coaching staff is looking forward to meeting together this Saturday at 9:30 AM at Brandeis HS to continue the season after a long winter break.
The following is an email that was sent out to most if not all of you. Please make sure that you complete the new registration process if you have not done so already:
Anyone whom has registered with the old GEVA website must complete the process below as soon as possible. The old website registration has become invalid.

You must remember to select 'NYC Starlings', on the second page of registration, as your club.
Remember not to pay the $40 charge. It will be paid by NYC Starlings.
This process must be completed as soon as possible. After completing the process, please email me, or if you have any question or issues, please email me back or call me at (917) 569-0357.
If you haven't completed this process, you must complete it before Saturday's practice.

Ladies,
We are excited about the season before us and are looking forward to seeing you for our second day of tryouts tomorrow, December 11th. A few things to keep in mind:
1. Do not forget to bring any of the following documentations to practice, if you have not already done so:
a. Geva Registration and Medical Forms (cannot partake in tryouts without the Medical form signed by parents/guardian)
b. $100 Tryout Payment
2. Even if you filled out registration papers, you must register online yourself. We will be doing this during Saturdays practice, but it will take away from your time on the court, so try your best to do this at home or school.
3. The Senior Exceptional Match will be held at Brandeis @ 2PM this Saturday, Dec. 11th. You are encouraged to stay after practice and enjoy the game (if you are not already participating in it).

Our Junior volleyball season is upon us, and tryouts are going to be held during the month of December. (Our first is this Saturday, see dates below for the rest.)
Dates: Dec 4th, Dec 11th, Dec 18th.
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Location:
Louis D. Brandeis High School
145 West 84th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Ave.
Trains: 1,B,C to 86th Street Station (be sure to check mta.info for any weekend schedule changes!)
Please bring your completed GEVA registration forms, Medical forms, and Starlings Registration.
Please wear proper volleyball attire.
It is extremely important to attend all three tryouts. Please follow the GEVA registration instructions carefully so you can begin practicing with us immediately.
If you have mailed the forms to us already -- great! You don't need to complete the attached forms.
If you haven't mailed your forms to us, please bring your completed forms to us this Saturday.

04/07/10:
Ladies, the 16's Tournament will be held at the Downstate Athletic Center. We will meet on 96th and Broadway at 7 AM and will be leaving by 7:15 AM at the latest.
The 18's team will be practicing at Brandeis at our usual time on Saturday and playing at Satellite Sports on Sunday.
03/31/10:
Congratulations to the 18's team for finishing in 1st place in the Silver Bracket during last weekend's tournament!!! The coaches are extremely proud of how well you all played, finishing with a 5-1 record.
Don't forget that we will be off this upcoming Saturday and to continue checking the website for updates in regards to the next tournaments.
Also, the sweatshirts will be in by our next practice. If you have not paid, it is $30/sweatshirt, and it is by first come first serve basis.

Ladies, we will be practicing at Brandeis tomorrow. We were able to get the gym accessible to us . But we will not be going to this week's tournament. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Make sure to leave early so you can get to practice on time.

Ladies, as of right now, we do not have full information about the tournament for the 18's team this upcoming Sunday. We will know for sure by Saturday and we will inform you of what will go on after practice. It is crucial that each and every one of you attend this week's practice! Please pass this information along to your fellow team maters.
02/23/10:
Congratulations to the16's team this past Sunday for their great play and success. The team finished in first place with a 6-1 record in pool play, won 2-0 in the semifinals and lost 1-2 in the finals to finish with an overall record of 9-3. The coaching staff is very proud and we look to keep improving as the season goes on.
Practice will continue this Saturday the 27th. Check back on the website for information on location for the next tournament.

Ladies, there will be no practice on Saturday, February 20th. The 16's team will be playing their next tournament this Sunday, the 21st, at Center Moriches High School (you can look in the Tournaments page for further information). Contact coach Felix for information of when and where you will meet up.

P.S. Your teammate Gaby Kent came up with a great community service project/fundraising idea for our program. She found a website where we can design a T-shirt/sweater any way we want. The link below is her design:
We can then sell the shirts and either send all the money from the shirts to Haiti or send half to Haiti and the rest towards the National Starlings Tournament

Ladies, the 18's team will be competing this Sunday at Kean University (1000 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083-7131). We will be giving out more information during this Saturday's practice in regards to location and time we will be meeting up at. We do need some parents to help us drive players to the tournament location, so please start to ask them and let us know who can help.
